Sprout Social Employee Advocacy: pricing and alternatives for small teams (2026)

    PostfoxPostfox TeamUpdated October 2026

    Short answer

Sprout Social Employee Advocacy, called Bambu until 2022, is a paid add-on to a Sprout Social plan, available on Standard ($199 per seat a month, billed annually) and up. Sprout doesn't publish the add-on's price: you get it from a demo. For a team of 10 that only needs advocacy, tools with public prices cost $180 to $425 a month.

What Sprout Social Employee Advocacy does

Employee Advocacy is Sprout Social's advocacy product, called Bambu by Sprout Social until October 2022. Contributors, managers and admins add stories (links, posts, photos or videos, or items from an RSS feed) with pre-approved message ideas, and AI Assist can suggest up to 3 message ideas for an article story. Employees share those stories to their own networks from the web or the mobile apps, with their own text or a suggested message, and can suggest stories too.

Stories that contributors add go to approval by managers or admins. Admins can compile stories into newsletters or broadcasts for groups of employees in Microsoft Teams or Slack, and reporting includes earned media value.

    What it costs

Employee Advocacy is an add-on to a Sprout Social plan. Sprout's pricing page says it's available on the Standard plan and up, and its card shows no price, only Schedule a demo. Sprout's help center says add-ons are optional and cost extra on top of the subscription. Standard costs $199 per seat a month, billed annually; Professional is $299 and Advanced $399.

Estimate: Vendr's pricing guide for PostBeyond, another advocacy tool, puts Sprout Social Advocacy at $18,000 to $45,000 a year for 100 users, plus $2,500 to $10,000 for onboarding (page last updated February 2026, checked October 10, 2026). Those are Vendr's figures, not Sprout's prices, and Vendr doesn't say whether they include the Sprout plan.

Sprout's plans are free for 30 days, with no credit card; its pages don't say whether that includes Employee Advocacy.

    Who it's for

Teams that already run Sprout Social for publishing, engagement and reporting, on Standard or above, and want an admin-curated advocacy program in the same suite, with approvals, newsletters in Slack or Microsoft Teams, and earned media value reporting.

Limits for a team of 10 to 50

You pay for a Sprout Social plan first, then the add-on, at a price you only get from a demo. Vendr's figures are for 100 users, which tells a team of 20 little about its own price.

Posts start from the stories admins curate, and employees add their own words when they share. If your team sells mainly on LinkedIn and doesn't use Sprout for anything else, a tool built only for advocacy is usually simpler to buy and to run.

To put Postfox's public price in numbers: a team of 15 on the monthly plan pays $190 for the first 10 people plus $19 for each of the other 5, so $285 a month. On the yearly plan, the same team pays $1,800 plus $180 for each of the other 5, so $2,700 a year. Everyone who accepted their invitation counts, admins included.

When Sprout Social is the better choice

Sprout Social's advocacy add-on makes the most sense inside Sprout. It's likely the better choice if:

    • Your marketing team already runs Sprout Social on Standard or above.
    • You want advocacy, publishing, the inbox and reporting in one suite.
    • You want people sharing to X, Facebook and Instagram as well as LinkedIn.
    • You want curated stories with approvals, newsletters in Slack or Microsoft Teams, and earned media value reporting.

For teams like these, adding advocacy to a Sprout plan they already pay for can be simpler than adding another tool.

When Postfox is the better choice

If you're a small team that sells on LinkedIn and doesn't use Sprout, Postfox is likely the better fit if:

    • You're a team of 5 to 100 people, and LinkedIn is where your buyers are.
    • You want to see the price on the website and start this week, without requesting a quote.
    • You want each person's post written from what they told Postfox about their own work.
    • You want people to approve in one click in Slack, or from an email, with nothing going out without them.
    • You don't want to buy a social media management suite to get employee advocacy.

If you're starting a program from scratch, our guide on how to get employees to post on LinkedIn covers the first steps, and these employee-generated content examples show what the posts can look like.

    How Postfox works

    1. Write one brief: the theme, what you want to say, any documents (PDF, text or Markdown), and an optional call to action and link.
    2. Postfox writes a different draft for each person, in their voice, from what they told it about their own work.
    3. Each person approves, edits or declines their own post, starting from Slack or an email.
    4. Approved posts go out on their own profile through the official LinkedIn API, at one of their posting times or a time they pick.

There's no browser extension and no LinkedIn password to share. Each person connects their own LinkedIn account, and Postfox only asks LinkedIn for permission to sign them in and to publish the posts they approve, so it can't read their feed, messages or connections. Admins see a post only after its author approves it, and never who said no.

    What Postfox doesn't do yet

An honest list, so you can rule it out quickly if it doesn't fit:

    • LinkedIn only.
    • No Microsoft Teams yet: approvals work in Slack or by email.
    • Post statistics such as impressions and reactions. LinkedIn hasn't given Postfox access to them.
    • No pre-publication compliance review or archiving, so it isn't a fit yet if your posts need a registered principal's approval (FINRA Rule 2210).
